Sitting high on the Billboard charts should be an exciting time for Meghan Trainor but her joy comes with pain. Starting with people who thought her hit sounded like “Happy Mode” by South Korean group “Koyote”, while others felt it was a rip-off of a Phish song, the controversy has mushroomed. This morning a class action suit was filed on behalf of a group comprised of 293 composers, lyricists, musicians, record producers, arrangers , sound mixers, et al. who feel she stole the song from their works. At this point 127 songs have been submitted that sound like “All About That Bass.” Meghan’s only comment so far has been “This song came to be in a dream. It’s all mine! These haters gonna hate cause they know this baby’s got back and knows how to Par-Tay! They have got to Let it Go!”
