Although to many, it seems like Meredith Grey has been terribly sad and overly introspective since Ronald Reagan was in the White House, but it has actually been only 10 Years. After 2 more projected seasons, the series will at last end, most likely in a vale of tears and packed off to the Lifetime Channel, for eternal late night reruns and possible holiday special reunions, but as it turns out, NOT with Ellen Pompeo! Playing the indecisive and moody, yet unfathomably adorable Meredith Grey for so many years, has pretty much worn the actress out and so she plans to quit acting after the show ends. “People tell me it’s been difficult to watch a one-note character for over ten years, especially so late in the evening. Well it is twice as exhausting to play her!” Ellen said calmly, yet thoughtfully. “After this I have no desire to act! I’ve already told my on-screen husband Patrick Dempsey that I am too tired, so for the next 2 years, to fulfill my contract, I will show up, but I am just going to lay there and let him do all the work!”
