Just when you thought Carrie had plumbed the depths of her sadness, she has managed to find still more. She’s an unwed mother, so now she’s crying for 2! As Season 4 premieres we find another terrorist plot that needs the crazy genius only Carrie possesses and so the whole gang is back, minus Nicholas Brody, last seen hanging around in Iran. Brody will however appear in flashbacks and as a voice in Carrie’s head on a regular basis. But not to worry! Like a crazed car chase, the story will remain as ridiculous as it is relentless and of course there will be plenty of emotional breakdowns. When asked about the sadness quotient Claire Danes responded thoughtfully, “Yes, Carrie is still sad, but it’s a different kind of sad, a sexy sad, a not so obvious sad. It’s a bit less mad sad than before, a less uncontrolled sad, more internal I would say, a subtler sad. But yet she remains sad, sad to say.”
