WSJ. How To Make A Sow’s Ear Out Of A Silk Purse!

Fair and Balanced

News editors and writers agree that working at The Wall Street Journal these days has got to be one of the most challenging jobs in journalism. “It’s like Bizarro World,” said one top Editor, “Up is down, fat is thin and balanced is unbalanced. It is so confusing.” One reporter complained, “You know, people think this is easy just because Fox News and The NY Post seem to handle it so effortlessly, but that’s because that’s all they ever did! We used to have credibility and were somewhat factual and unbiased. It is very hard to tell someone that you are hot when it’s cold and not have a telltale shiver give you away! I practice on the people in my life. My statuesque wife I nicknamed Dumpy. I tell my kids who look like a carbon copy of me that I’m not their real father and I deny that Rosebud was a sled! I thought after Tuesday we would catch a break, but the memo from upstairs says, “Shovel it On. My God it’s going to be a long 2 more years!”
