Tears were shed and tissues were shredded last night as McDreamy (Derek Shepherd) was put out of his misery on Grey’s Anatomy, after 11 years of ups and downs with Meredith Grey. Watching the popular character pass away as a result of a car accident, was a traumatic shock for many fans of the ever popular series that has been on the air since about the mid 1970’s.

Critics, we understand were surprised, only that he died after a car accident. One commented drily, “We all assumed that like the show itself, he would be beaten to death.”
